SOLA® Reformulates Their Highly Acclaimed Low-Carb Bread

When starting Sola, we wanted to make sure that we were providing you the best tasting low-carb products that allowed you to make an easy swap for all your favorites. We have been in grocery stores for almost two years, and we have been delighted by the response we have had to our products, especially our bread. We have been tagged in thousands of posts on social media and we have been utterly wowed by our community’s creations.

Our chefs are always working on making our products better. We are always asking what can we improve, what do you want to see, and what truly makes our community happy to see in their products. Sola is a community effort, our chefs try their best to craft products that you want to share with your family and friends with their years of experience in the kitchen.

The newly reformulated Sola bread was shaped by all of your feedback both from social and our amazing taste testers sourced from our community. Thank you for working with our chefs to make our new bread.

The new low-carb Sola bread is now 2 net carbs per slice (Golden Wheat, Sweet & Buttery, Deliciously Seeded) with one bread flavor, Sweet Oat, coming in at 3 net carbs per slice. We have made it a point to lower our net carb count yet keep the taste you know and love of Sola bread. Using a mixture of arrowroot flour and defatted soy flour we have crafted a mix that allows us to lower the carb count in our breads, without sacrificing taste.


We officially have 0g of sugar in every flavor of bread. We use a mixture of low-carb sweeteners such as erythritol and stevia leaf extract to help create the fluffy texture you know and love. You’ll no longer need to worry about any sugar in our breads and instead, just choose what level of sweetness you want. Our non-sweet bread flavors include Golden Wheat and Deliciously Seeded. Meanwhile, the sweeter breads are Sweet & Buttery with the sweetest bread being Sweet Oat.


One of the most sought after changes were to shorten our ingredients list. We have shed 10 ingredients from our original formula and a highly requested change from our community was to switch our oils. Oil is used in low-carb bread to create a more moist, and soft texture. This is why Sola bread tends to be softer, and a less dense low-carb bread than others because it’s higher in the ingredient list, unlike our competitors. The oil we have switched over to is Olive Pomace Oil which is a healthier alternative and is well regarded in the food industry.


We won’t let this comment be swept under the rug (it was mentioned quite often), many of our community wanted bigger slices of our low-carb bread.  We are excited to announce that our bread is 10% bigger than our original formula. Giving you the best just in a bigger package. This is something our chefs worked hard to create as they went through countless formulas. 


Some of our users are avid followers of a low-carb, plant-based lifestyle. Our previous formula had tagatose and dairy, which made it non-vegan and wasn’t compatible with those with a more plant-focused lifestyle. After going back to the drawing board, we wanted to give them some options when it came to our bread. We were able to convert three of our loaves of bread to plant-based ingredients which are: Golden Wheat, Deliciously Seeded, and Sweet Oat.

The only flavor NOT plant-based is Sweet & Buttery due to the butter component in the flavor profile.


We have had much success over the past 2 years, and we would not have gotten here without our amazing community which is both vocal and supportive of our endeavors. This newly formulated Sola low-carb bread was crafted with YOUR help and our chefs, we could not have done it without you.
